What happens to your details

Giselle collects very little, keeps it only as long as she needs it, and never sells it. This page sets out exactly what, why, and how to get it removed.

THE SHORT VERSION

In short, what happens to your data, who sees it, and where it goes.

Your name and email, so Giselle can teach you and reach you.
She never sees your card number. Payments go straight to the payment provider.
Live classes are on Zoom, and where a class is recorded you may appear in it. See section Online Classes.
Nothing is ever sold, and nothing is shared except with the services that make the site work.
Email giseanne08@gmail.com and ask for your details, or ask for them to be deleted. She will do it.

Who is responsible for your information

Giselle Anne, based in Colorado, USA, decides what happens to the information collected through this website. In data protection language, she is the controller.

What is collected

Only what is needed. In particular, Giselle does not collect or store your card number, and she does not see or store your password — Wix handles both.

Why it is collected

To teach you — to run your booking, get you into the class, and hold your place.
To take payment and keep the records the law requires.
To reach you about something you booked — a time change, a cancellation, a Zoom link.
To send emails you asked for, and only those.
To publish a testimonial you sent in.
To keep the site working and see roughly how it is used.

Your details are never sold, rented, or passed to anyone for their own marketing.

IF YOU ARE IN THE EU OR THE UK

Performing our contract — bookings, payments, and getting you into a class.
Your consent — mailing lists, publishing your testimonial, and non-essential cookies. You can withdraw consent at any time.
Legitimate interests — keeping the site secure and working, and basic statistics about how it is used.
Legal obligation — tax and accounting records.

Who else sees it

Running a website means using other companies' services. Each sees only the part it needs.

Live classes, Zoom, and recordings

The technique class is taught live on Zoom. During a class Giselle can see and hear you — that is the point, since she cannot correct what she cannot see.

Where a class is recorded, Giselle only records herself, not you and not your voice.

Because everyone is on the same call, you may appear to and be heard by other participants.

Cookies

Cookies are small files a website stores in your browser. Wix sets some automatically.

Essential — needed for the site to work at all: keeping you logged in, remembering your basket, security. These cannot be switched off.
Analytics — tell Giselle roughly how many people visited and which pages they read. Never used to identify you personally.
Third party — an embedded YouTube video, or a payment page, may set its own.

You can clear or block cookies in your browser settings, though parts of the site may then stop working.

Where your information goes in the world

Giselle is based in the United States. Wix, Zoom and the payment providers operate internationally, so your information may be stored or processed outside your own country — including outside the UK and the European Economic Area.

Where that happens, these companies use the safeguards the law requires for international transfers, such as standard contractual clauses.

Your rights

Wherever you live, you can email Giselle and ask her to show you what she holds, correct it, or delete it. She will do it, and it costs nothing.

IF YOU ARE IN THE EU OR THE UK

You have the right to: see your information; have it corrected; have it erased; restrict or object to how it is used; receive it in a portable form; and withdraw consent at any time. Giselle will respond within one month.

You can also complain to your data protection regulator — in the UK, the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk; in the EU, your national authority.

IF YOU ARE IN COLORADO, CALIFORNIA, OR ANOTHER US STATE WITH A PRIVACY LAW

You have the right to know what is collected, to have it deleted, to correct it, to receive a copy, and to opt out of any sale or targeted advertising. Giselle does not sell personal information and does not use it for targeted advertising. Exercising these rights will never mean worse service.

Keeping it safe

The site runs on Wix's platform, which encrypts data in transit and stores it on secured servers. Payment pages meet the PCI-DSS card industry standard. No system is perfect, but nothing is kept that does not need keeping — which is the best protection there is.

Children

This site is meant for adults. Giselle does not knowingly collect information from children under 16. A child may attend a class with a responsible adult, please advise at time of booking. If you believe a child has given information here, please get in touch and it will be deleted.

Testimonials

If you send a testimonial you are agreeing that it may be published, in whole or shortened for length, with the name and location you gave. Nothing appears until Giselle approves it. Ask at any time and it comes down.

Emails you signed up for

Mailing lists are opt-in — you will never be added because you booked something. You will receive emails about the list you chose and nothing else. Every email carries an unsubscribe link, and it works immediately.

Other sites

This site links to festival organizers, YouTube, booksellers and others. Once you follow a link you are on their site under their privacy policy, not this one.

Changes to this page

If this policy changes, the date at the top changes with it. If something significant changes about how your information is used, you will be told rather than left to notice.
